July 16, 2018 Second dive - Mala Pier, or rather the remains of it. Mala Pier was condemned for bad cement as soon as it was built. Now it's an artificial reef.
July 16, 2018 Some more urchins.

July 16, 2018 Hey! A turtle!

July 16, 2018 Sharks and other critters hide under ledges. Sometimes the only way to see them is to dive straight down and peek under the ledge, while looking upside down.

July 16, 2018 Bad picture, but Hawaii does have a lot of interesting, colorful fish.
July 16, 2018 Wide angle lens. Only way to get a shark closeup is to get really CLOSE to him. About 2 feet here.
July 17, 2018 Third dive, in very rough seas, off the island of Molokai in a known hammerhead area. Under the water, conditions were clear, mostly calm, and cold.

July 17, 2018 Lots of colorful fish around Hawaii.
July 17, 2018 Three dive groups went in off the boat. All stay together due to currents and surface conditions. All divers had to have safety sausages (a signaling device) in case they got swept away on the surface and had to be found. Here is my dive group staying together.
July 17, 2018 At the very end of a 45-minute dive, while doing the 3-minute safety stop, we saw our first (and only) hammerheads. I got only 2 pics where a shark is recognizable. Luck of the draw that I was too far away.
